This policy brief examines the physical and mental health and well-being of young children and young adults from migrant and non-migrant households. Moreover, this report investigates the physical and mental health levels of carers of young children, a sample that has been overlooked in the literature. Findings suggest that parental migration, generally, has positive influences on the health of left-behind family members across various measures, particularly of the carers and young children. For carers, the findings highlight the need for better awareness and support for mental health and access to healthcare. For young children, immunization findings suggest the need for more effective immunization campaigns and digitalization of records. Lastly, findings of high prevalence of smoking and vaping behaviors among young adults support growing public health concerns.
