EURA-NET meeting in Beijing

Scalabrini Migration Center Executive Director Graziano Battistella and Director for Research and Publications Maruja Asis recently attended the 6th meeting of the EURA-NET research group held in Beijing from August 25 to 26. Country reports of the different work packages and preparations for the final report and conference in Brussels in December 2016 were tackled in the meeting.

EURA-NET, or “Transnational Migration in Transition: Transformative Characteristics of the Temporary Mobility of People,” is a multi-country research project funded by the European Union for the period 2014-2017. The project investigates people’s temporary transnational migration between Asia and Europe. The research group is coordinated by the team of Dr. Pirkko Pitkanen of the University of Tampere, Finland. In the Philippines, the project is implemented by the Scalabrini Migration Center.
