Rising to the Occasion: Father-Carers in Transnational Families in the Philippines (2018)

The Child Health and Migrants Parents in Southeast Asia (CHAMPSEA) research project, which includes the Philippines, uncovered the role of fathers as carers of young children in families where mothers migrated to work abroad. This finding from the first wave of data collection in 2008-2010 was confirmed in the second wave in 2016-2017. This video report sheds light on how fathers, children and other family members view and experience fathers as carers.
