The Gulf Labour Markets and Migration (GLMM) Programme


The Gulf Labour Markets and Migration (GLMM) Programme is pleased to announce the release of the book, Skilful Survivals: Irregular Migration to the Gulf, edited by Philippe Fargues and Nasra M. Shah. The volume explores the role of legislation, policies and practices in generating nd sustaining irregular migration to the oil-rich Gulf countries. It includes case studies of six destination countries in the Gulf region—Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)—and case studies of six major origin countries—Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan and the Philippines.
