Prepared by the Scalabrini Migration Center for the International Labor Organization, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, and the Commission of the European Communities, this report highlight the findings of a socioeconomic baseline study on migrant savings, entrepreneurship and skills upgrading. A profile of migrants, a description of the migration experience, and a consideration of the business opportunities are presented. The majority who invested did so in the service sector or in real estate. Recommendations for the development of programs to assist entrepreneurs are given.
