Asian Migration Outlook 2011
2011
The need for information and data often crops up in migration analysis, discussion and policy-making. The production and dissemination of migration information have increased exponentially, thanks to rapid developments in information technology. The challenge now is how to access concise and comparative information amidst the extensive information that is out there. The Asian Migration Outlook (AMO) aims to respond to this challenge.
Derived from news published in English language newspapers in the continent and from other sources, AMO offers a summary of key migration events related to trends, issues and policies. AMO covers most countries in Asia and two countries in Oceania (Australia and New Zealand). Published on the 25th anniversary of Scalabrini Migration Center (SMC), AMO adds another component to the information services provided by SMC, which include the quarterly Asian and Pacific Migration Journal (APMJ), the news links of Asian Migration News, and the database Migration Information System in Asia (MISA).
