Transnational Bridges: Migration, Development and Solidarity in the Philippines. Quezon City: Scalabrini Migration Center, 2010.

This publication highlights examples of migrant giving and investments that contribute to development in the Philippines. These were documented in the research carried out in the Philippine Component of the Migrants’ Associations and Philippine Institutions for Development (MAPID) project.
The book is organized into two parts. Part 1: LINKAPIL Stories – gives a brief introduction about the program called Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (LINKAPIL) or “Service to Fellow Filipinos,” a program initiated by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas in 1989 to match the resources donated by overseas Filipino associations with the needs of disadvantaged communities in the Philippines. This is followed by vignettes about selected LINKAPIL donors and the projects they helped support in various parts of the Philippines.
Part 2 : MAPID Chronicles – presents sketches of migrant giving, migrants’ investments and models of partnership between overseas Filipinos and local institutions culled from the MAPID-Philippines project .
