February 12 2025
Sociologist Dr. Rizza Kaye C. Cases gave a talk on, “Recruitment, Contexts of Reception, and Integration of Filipino Workers in Central and Eastern Europe,” at the Scalabrini Migration Center on 11 February 2025.
These countries have increasingly turned to Filipino workers to provide much-needed human resources to labor shortages in key economic sectors. More male migrant workers are participating in this unfolding migration. The forum was attended by partners and colleagues from the Ateneo de Manila University, Center for Migrant Advocacy, Commission on Filipinos Overseas, De La Salle University, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Migrant Workers, GIZ Philippines, Grand Placement Agency, Inc., Hitotsubashi University, IOM Philippines and UP-CIFAL.
The forum is part of the activities of the Link4Skills project in the Philippines which is being carried out by the Scalabrini Migration Center. The Link4Skills team comprises Dr. Marla Asis, Dr. Geoffrey Ducanes, Dr. Ma. Andrea Soco-Roda and Mr. John Paul Asis.
