Dr. Maruja Asis participated in the international conference, Children with a Migrant Background of Korea, held in Seoul on 23 August 2018. She presented key findings from the study of Kopino children and families in the Philippines. The Kopino study was part of a larger study coordinated by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs in cooperation with the Korea Labor Institute and IOM-Migration and Research Training Centre. The conference tackled the status and challenges of children with a migrant background living in Korea, those living in foreign countries, and lessons from policies in Japan and Taiwan.
