The International\nCatholic Migration Commission (ICMC) organized two regional meetings in\nBangkok, Thailand on December 1-4, 2019. The first meeting, \u201cPutting People at\nthe Centre,\u201d was the theme of the ICMC Asia-Oceania Working Group. The\nparticipants discussed what had been accomplished and action points for 2020 on\nthree key issues: child migrants and refugees, human trafficking and labor\nmigration. The second meeting focused on the \u201cFuture of Work\u201d which included\npresentations on research conducted under the \u201cThe Future of Work, Labour After\nLaudato Si\u201d global initiative coordinated by ICMC. SMC completed two research\nprojects under this initiative: \u201cFilipino, Indonesian and Vietnamese Fishermen\non Taiwanese Fishing Vessels,\u201d and Exploring Agriculture as an Alternative to\nMigration for Young Filipinos.\u201d SMC Director Maruja M.B.
