On 18 November 2025, the Scalabrini Migration Center (SMC) hosted Mr. Jay Mar Albaos for a Migration Conversations session sharing his work as an anthropologist and <\/a>artistic researcher in Belgium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jay\u2019s presentation, entitled \u201cA Personal Attempt to Note Down Migrant Precarity in Flemish Belgium: The Other is (Always) Angry,\u201d is based on his recently published article bearing the same title (https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/16094069251392416<\/a>), exploring migrant precarity through autoethnography and artistic immersion. He is a PhD candidate at the LUCA School of Arts (Gent) \/ KU Leuven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation was attended by colleagues from the government and the academe, spurring reflections on advocacy, cultural diversity, and exchanges on how the findings can translate into policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
