{"id":1271,"date":"2019-12-02T11:04:33","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T03:04:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/smc.org.ph\/?post_type=other_resource&#038;p=1271"},"modified":"2019-12-02T11:22:51","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T03:22:51","slug":"global-compact","status":"publish","type":"other_resource","link":"https:\/\/smc.org.ph\/index.php\/other_resource\/global-compact\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Compact"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>United Nations member states \u2014 absent the United States \u2014 are in the midst of negotiating a Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (\u201cthe Compact\u201d), an international agreement that would establish a multilateral framework for migration governance. There are several areas of contention which could derail the effort and produce a document which does little, if anything, to impact the status quo.
